News and events: 2011 FOOD FESTIVAL AT PRAGUE CASTEL


From the 27th to the 29th f May, in the Royal Garden of the Prague Castel, (opened to the public exclusively for this event) took place the 2011 food festival . Celli ,proudly representing Italy, together with Riccardo Lucque's staff, was present with its natural hams , PGI Marchigiana breed meat and bread made with stone-milled wheat flour.

The protagonists of this magnificent event have been the most renowned Chefs of Prague as well as the high quality products representing 15 different nations : the Patanegra ham of Spain , the mussels,oysters and champagne of France, the famous Kobe meat of Japan and, for Italy, at Riccardo Lucque's stend (owner and manager of two famous restaurants in Prague “la Finestra” and “Aromi”)the renowned Marchigiana PGI breed meat and our naturally-aged ham, hand-sliced and served on a bruschetta of bread prepared in the ancient bakery of Fabrizio in Pontemessa of Pennabilli, and made with what flour stone-milled in the Ronci mill.

It has been a success , the visitors were continuously in line to taste our products and even Livia Klausova, the First Lady, honored us by tasting them.

Another significant product was the “brodetto di pesce alla fanese” (fish stew) cooked by Riccardo with the best ability and knowledge of the original recipe (since he was born in Fano).

As you can see in the picture out Patent (Mandolino of the Montefeltro) was always in the foreground of the many photographs taken by the journalists , and in the afternoon of the 29th of May it was presented and tasted by the participants.

Donatella was photographed while hand-cutting the ham with mastery; seasoned ham, unlike the cooked ham of Prague, is not part of the gastronomic culture of Prague, let alone the art hand-slicing it.

Donatella and I want to sincerely thank Riccardo Lucque for giving us the opportunity to represent Italy with our products in this important event.
